General information
Media
We use Gibco DMEM medium (Glutamax, -Pyruvate) from Life Technologies; we supplement this with foetal calf serum (FCS) to a final concentration of 10%.
Cell lines
We only use verified cell lines supplied by the NCTC. In most of our work we use mouse McCoy cells, but chlamydia will grow in many different cell types (e.g. HEp2, BGM, HeLa) and we recommend that you review current literature as to whether you can use other cell lines.
